The Food and Drug Administration (FDA) is in charge of ensuring the security, safety, and effectiveness of pharmaceuticals for humans and animals, biological products, medical equipment, food supplies in the country, cosmetics, and radiation-emitting goods.
This is a federal agency that is oversee by a commissioner and falls under the Department of Health and Human Services. The
main purpose of the FDA is to protect the health of American citizens. Some areas of supervision and control are drugs, food, supplements,
medical devices, vaccines, animal food, and cosmetics.
