According to a CNN report, hospitals across the country are reaching full capacity. The culprit is the tridemic between the Flu, RSV (respiratory syncytial virus), and Covid-19 viruses. One alone could send many to the emergency room, but all 3, you’ll get the picture. More than 80% of hospitals beds are now occupied nationwide. Majority of US States are experiencing higher than normal infections. Worse yet, staff shortages and children getting sick too, are adding additional strain to hospitals across the country. The increase in infections could be caused by the holiday seasons, where relatives and friends often gather together, and the approaching winter.

What to know about the Flu, RSV, and Covid-19 viruses:

The Flu is a contagious respiratory illness caused by influenza viruses. The symptoms include fever, headache, fatigue, sore throat and cough.

RSV is a respiratory virus that can cause mild to severe illness in adults and children with asthma or other chronic lung diseases. The symptoms include fever, runny nose, congestion, sneezing, and coughing.

Covid-19 is a viral respiratory infection that can cause mild to severe illness in adults and children with asthma or other chronic lung diseases. The symptoms include fever, runny nose, congestion, sneezing and coughing.

It’s quite possible to get all 3 viral infections at about the same time. Therefore, preventative care like social distancing, wearing masks, good hygiene, drinking enough fluids, and getting vaccinated is still recommended.
